At 3.36 am on 24 August 2016, a Mw 6.2 earthquake struck the central region of Italy. The epicentre was near the village of Accumuli in the Apennines chain. Earthquake shaking was felt as far as Florence, 220km away.
The EEFIT Team was on mission in the region from 4 - 15 October 2016. Speakers from the mission team will present findings from their investigation into the ground surface effects caused by the earthquake, structural damage to heritage buildings, masonry and reinforced concrete structures, road infrastructure, and the impact on the local population.
